I took a gamble and bought some matt black plates off a Chinese seller on Amazon..

Not bad right? They are surprisingly well built and look rather nice.

It also makes the glossy centre part look better somehow even though I hated it before.

Funnily enough I've had more problems with scummy local British sellers than anything from China. Other than longer shipping times, I don't have any qualms about it.

These plates are really good quality too, which I must admit I was a bit surprised by.

I've had more issues with eBay and domestic shipped goods than Aliexpress. With eBay, if something arrives broken or something, it's a fight to the death to get a refund. On Aliexpress? I've had it happen like 4 times (out of hundreds of orders) and all 4 times I had a refund like 30 min after submitting the dispute.
