They should port JKSM or something to the Switch too. I prefer JKSM over Checkpoint since I couldn't figure out how to get Checkpoint to actually work, and I heard it has issues with naming files. I also prefer JKSM's simpler GUI. Nice work porting though!

Love this. Looking forward to the future possibilities of save editing also.

What did you try? Backing up the BotW savegame?
That worked for me (3.0.0, cartridge game version).

Same.

Also the online save editor also works with (identifies) switch saves, and f.e. also shows total time played. So if you havent set up a Nintendo account on your switch and always wanted to know how long you've played BotW, you now can.. ;)

Wait, two questions:
  1. That BotW savegame website is now fully compatible with Switch saves (so no need to convert them to Wii U)?
  2. If I don't connect a Nintendo Account (I can't as I'm on 3.0.0 obviously) it doesn't count my play time for any game? Even if I connect it later (once I can use newest FW thanks to Atmosphere)? Would my playtime start at zero from the day on I connect my Nintendo Account? That would suck a bit (yes I'm one of those guys who loves to get the playtime tracked).

Sweet! 100% working @Scarlet? I'll be buying a new microsd card just for my switch! Will I be able to follow this guide to install Checkpoint?

Ad1: I dont know if it is "fully compatible" with Switch saves didn't try loading a modiied version back - but it identified the save as a "Switch save" of the correct patch version of the game.

Ad2: Yes, I believe the "showing you the amount of time you've spent in a game" feature, is married to your nintendo account (unless a game would show you ingame time figures). At least it was, when I chose to stick with 3.0.0; :)

I can't speak for random video guides, but I launched it like any other app from the HBL on my 2.3.0 Switch. If that sets up the HBL for you, it'll probably work. And yeah it seems like everything works fine.

Reminder that there's an official Checkpoint thread here :)
Yeah, for the 3DS version. :P But you're right, I should link to that in OP. :)

Edit:
Here's the Switch support commit for the BotW Savegame Editor btw -> click.
Seems like the savegame differences between the systems are not that big. :)

    Only Xbox I don't have is the OG, and One X model specifically, I regret giving my chipped OG model to one of my kids years ago, after later hearing he sold it to pawn shop, damn kids!

    I just recently picked up a n64 from a garage sell, and looking to mod it and add a HDMI port to it. https://www.ebay.com/itm/3548173115...044&customid=4f3038da73b61afddf7e5e90f4153856
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
    I'd like to find a power strip and HDMI selector built in 1 unit, so I can select which game system I want, and will switch to that hdmi, and power on that plug/power supply only, so don't have all game systems powered all the time, but can't find anything like. May just have to make something myself.

    Maybe start a kick starter page and sell them, yea right. Big N would prob C&D me, not anything Big N related, but just because that's what they do nowdays. Then come out with they own in a year or so.

    @Xdqwerty, Nice. Which operating system are you installing?
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
    @SylverReZ, windows 10 and some linux distro like linux mint
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
    dualbooth
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
    @Xdqwerty, Yeah, I'd recommend having another OS just in-case you want to play games.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
    At least Linux doesn't contain spyware than what Windows has.
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
    @SylverReZ, cuz of lag?
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
    @Xdqwerty, No. Whenever you use the internet on Windows, Microsoft collects personal data and installs bloatware that isn't necessarily needed, such as Edge.

    @SylverReZ,
    I recall @impeeza mentioned some trick about not having bloatware when installing windows where you set up your country to "world" or smh like that

  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
    Yes, you can debloat the operating system, but in some cases for me it just reinstalls them.

    @SylverReZ,
    I also recall my brother downloded a "non bloated" version of windows 11 on his pc

  • impeeza @ impeeza:
    @Xdqwerty yes, when you are installing Windows on the first steps you are asked for your current location, you MUST to select «international» so no bloatware is installed, because the bloatware is location based. if this night I have some time I will setup a VM and take screenshots.
