Oh right you have such great morals, don't start jumping down the guys throat just because he mentioned cheats, Jesus, not all people want to noob about and cheat online, there are so many games that I would like to have fun on offline and never finished because I didn't have time for it. I really hope for a cheat program now that we have the master keys.

Well, as long as most people who end up using cheats (me for 1) use it offline only, then it doesn't bother me.

Like there aren't people who already cheat/glitch online! Besides the last thing I'm gonna do is take my tricked-out PS3 onto PSN

To answer the original question: cheats ARE now possible. However, there are none (at least, none like CWcheat) so far. Give it a few months for the devs to work on the PRXs.

And whilst jailbreaking/hacking the PS3 might not get people banned for now, I'm sure cheating online will.

im all for offline cheats, i rarely, if ever use them myself, even when im stuck in a game, i just stop playing for a few months and go to another one, especially when theyre free, but im absolutely against online cheating and hope to the devil himself that sony would outright ban anyone for cheating online, and not just the PSN account, but the whole damn mac address used by the ps3

The fact that everyone hates online cheaters gives motivation for people to cheat online. People who cheat online like seeing people's reactions and likes seeing them complain about it on the forums.

Sounds like a conclusion without premises. Is there a possibility that someone can say what I say and have not cheated online? Yes. I'll be your counterexample

I lost all my interest in playing video games. If I have played games in the past 3 years it's to utilize cheating utilities like Gecko to see how I can experiment with games, what different things I can do for fun. Which is actually what brought me to this topic, because I would very like to see something like this for the PS3. I have been in cheating communities for the last 6 years or so years and no doubt people like to cheat online. But most of these online cheaters only cheat because of advantages they get, advantages over other people. It's that reason why I said most people cheat online is to get reactions out of the people who don't cheat. LOL I JUST BULLET THROUGH MARIO KART ONLINE AND NO ONE ELSE COULD.

However, there are so many legitimate uses to something like a cheat engine for platforms, lots of hacks we see for games utilize how the game is loaded into RAM and changes offsets of addresses to do specific things, exactly how cheats work. Naturally, people always get the wrong idea about cheating and they claim "NO CHEAT ONLINE FREAAKSS!!!" which is why I posted the above, it's because its those types of people which make cheating online so fun. While I have not cheated online, I have made cheats for people that happened to work online and watched them use it.

cheating off-line would inflict directly on trophies, some games are hard to beat and if there is a cheat device or program it would ruin the trophy system

If you can't grief without cheating, you aren't a very good griefer.
