ROM Hack Cheat Engine and DS

Does anyone know anything about cheat Engine code to work with the R4? I have created some code with cheat engine for a game but i can't seem to get it to work on the R4. below is an example.

i found a code for Legacy of Ys : book 1 and 2

EXP 999999
0C0473C0 000F423F
but when i put it into the R4, the R4 sees it, but it does not work. It work on the No$gba fine though. any help would be appreciated
