Changing region of wad

I wanted to get the BBC iPlayer on my NTSC-U (I know it doesn’t work anymore i just want it there for the aesthetic) I used free the wads to change its region to NTSC-U but i want to make sure it would still work cause i saw another form on here that said it would brick my console so i just want to make sure it’s ok.

That thread you linked is warning against installing a different region's System Menu (i.e., IOS). I don't see any indication that the BBC iPlayer wad replaces or alters any System Menu IOS.

I can't offer any guarantee, but I don't think you're running any risk beyond whatever background risk when installing a random wad - this is like installing a VC game, for purposes of that linked thread.

If you're really just interested in having the channel shown, that should be enough. If you run the channel once installed, the server is down so it won't have any content, and the channel may blackscreen or crash unless you enable some region free/display patches to account for the UK>NTSC switch.
