That's what I was afraid of but it just seemed too coincidental that I just changed the bq chip and it started after

Hi guys.

My switch shows the Nintendo Logo and then goes black. I already tried another battery.

I switched the eMMC "clip">same result.

I checked all things around the power chip>ok

What else could it be?

It's not a hackable switch.

I understand that much... did you desolder it and put it on a new board? did you replace it with one from another unit? what exactly did you swap

It's very simple.

I just wanted to see if the faulty switch will just show the nintendo logo with the donor eMMC.

I did not do any soldering, just swapping the clips including the chips.

How can I find out if the eMMC or the clip is faulty?

according to all available knowledge the emmc is paired with the processor (and wireless chip). It will never start with a different emmc. Additionally if the emmc from the donor board is on a newer firmware it will burn the fuses in the processor as soon as it attempts to start and it won't be able to work with the original emmc even if the issue is fixed.
