There's been an ARM9 exploit found and implemented after I made that post, amusingly enough. Assuming you have a cartridge of some sort to stick in your 3DS, follow https://3ds.guide/homebrew-launcher-(soundhax) through instead. No more need to NFIRM downgrade with DSiWare.
Dang it, I knew I should have waited a couple of days when that Soundhax was released on 11.2. Since I already started the old process, and copied the files from my source SD card to my target SD card should I go ahead and reformat my target card?
Reformatted the card and went through the process, as is well. Unfortunately, I have to wait 5 more days still to get my 2DS over it to because of the now unneeded O3DS transfer. Thanks a bunch for everyone's help and input.
Yeah, it's kind of a bummer having to wait for the system transfer cooldown. No way you could have known, though, ARM9 exploits don't usually fall out of the sky.
