Hi all, member from way back! Been a long time. Looking for some help with my PSP Go. It's running:

System Software: 6.20 PRO-88
MAC Address: [ Model: 05g Fake: 6.39 ]

I have a strange problem: When I'm in a PSP game and hit either L or R Shoulder Button + Triangle, Square, Circle or X the PSP seems to go into Sleep mode. The screen goes blank. In some instances, if I hit the PS button, the screen will come on. Other times the PSP will reset.

Any ideas on what might be causing this problem?
Is there a setting that might be causing this?
If the mod is bad can I re-mod / upgrade the CFW?

Thanks so much for any help!

So is mine! We might be the blind leading the blind! That being said, sounds like you are more in the know than me. Is there a menu item in recovery or on the PSP I can use to upgrade the CFW over Wifi or do I need to download files and prep them on my memory card to do an update?? Again, any help appreciated!

The same way you hacked your PSP go is the same way you update it. If you were on f2f Pro B than you would go with Pro C.
Also when in the main menu press select and hit recovery menu, see if there is a setting or plugin putting your psp to sleep.

Ok, I'll check those out, thanks! I actually lost a hard drive recently with all the files I used to hack my PSP so I'm not sure what I used. I do know that I adjusted some settings in the recovery menu but I can't recall what I changed ... I performed the hack awhile ago! So, question: In recovery mode -- what exactly do 'Reset Device' and 'Reset VSH' do? Wondering if that will help.

Reset device reboots the psp as if you took out the battery, so you would have to repack your psp from a the system which is only about 5-7 seconds.
Reset VSH restarts the system menu and doesn't actually do a reboot so you can load your homebrew with out running the hack again.
Also look into settings of the psp and tell me the cfw it's on.

Hey there!

Ok, I went into Settings -> System Settings -> System Information and System Software says 6.20 PRO-B8 or 6.20 PRO-88, I can't tell for sure! lol!

There's a section called PRO Settings under Settings which lots of options (Configuation, Plugins, xmbctrl Prefs) but I don't see anything that looks like it affects Sleep Settings.

In the recovery Menu, the only items that I think might effect Sleep are:

Configuration -> Prevent Hibernation Deletion (PSP-Go only) Enabled

There are also a bunch of Plugins installed. I remember turning on boost, bright and category_lite for sure....

I don't know if any of this info helps!

Also I see under Recovery Use Custom Update Server is enabled and under PRO Settings PRO Network Update is On. Does this mean if I connect my PSP to my Wi-Fi the CFW will automatically update and perhaps fix my problem?

Thanks again, hope this helps!

Downgraded from 6.20 Pro-B8 to OFW and then installed 6.20 Pro-C2 successfully and the problem persists. Here it is in more detail. Been testing with several PSP games including God of War Ghosts of Sparta, Ghostbusters and Crazy Taxi Fare Wars.

In all games when you hit either R or L Shoulder button + any other button (D-pad, Circle, Square, Triangle, X, Select, Start) the PSP Go screen goes black, the green power light blinks and after about 10 seconds the screen comes back to life. Sound also is interuppted during the 'black-out'.
Any insights?
