Hi,

Yesterday, my brother tried to turn on our wii u (despite the fact that I told him way too many times not to) and bricked it. Nobody was there when he bricked the console, so I unortunately can't tell you how he did it. But at least I can tell you what happens now when I try to turn it on. It looks normal until right after the cbhc loading screen, I get the Wii u logo on the bottom left corner (If I'm not wrong it wasn't there when autobooting mocha) followed by a black screen with -4 on the top left of the screen. I can't access anything on the menu, I tried booting the homebrew launcher, but the error persisted. I assume my Wii U is bricked, but I don't want to give up this soon. Also, what would be the best way to unbrick the console in last resort?

I hope you'll be able to help me out with this.

Thanks in advance

-4 means your SD Card could not be mounted. Make sure you don't have any additional partitions on it. Also make sure the SD is using MBR and not GPT.

If you have CBHC you shouldn't need to boot into mocha. What happens if you hold HOME while booting?
Do you get the CBHC options screen? You should be able to boot sysmenu from there.

Thanks again for your replies,
Please check also the SD Card´s Write Protection Switch.:)
I checked and for some reason, the sd card in the wii u wasn't the good one.

I retried to go on the sysmenu yesterday and it didn't work, I must have done something wrong since it now works fine. I tried accessing the homebrew launcher to start mocha from there and now the wii u acts slightly weird for a bit but now seems to work. I tested mario kart and the dlcs work fine. I don't know how to tell if I'm in mocha or not though.

If what I told you isn't anormal, I can honestly thank you for your help. I wouldn't have thought of all this without all of you.
