Hacking cant save on gateway

this is something that happened to a friend so it will be somewhat vague
according to him he accidentally went into the home menu while saving the game in zelda oot and doing so it corrupted his save file

now he cant even create new data on any .3ds game
CIAs saves still works

any idea how to fix this?

problem with sdcard? Are you o3ds or n3ds? Do the .sav files have write protect on? If o3ds maybe lock is on sdcard?

.sav files are not write protected, deleting them didnt work either
the sd isnt locked
