hi, i buyed a 16gb sd yesterday and decided to use it with my 3ds, i had been using a 8gb sd till then and everything worked fine on it,
after passing the archives for the old sd to the new sd i tried to install some cias but everytime i tried it gave me this error:
Failed to install cia.file
Result code:0xD9004588
Level: Permanent (27)
Summary:Wrong Argument (8)
Module:FS (17)
Desc: RAS/Hash verification failure (392)
i have tried updating the fbi.3ds like in the 3ds guide but that didn't work, i also have done the test with H2testw and nothing wrong with my sd

i don't understand what is happening help please!

yes I copied all the files I tried to install two games and after that the fbi.cia like it was said in the guide but all was the same, i didn't expect that there was a problem at first, I can use the other homebrew programs normally, but I can't install any cia using fbi

Could be corrupted file, back up your game save and redo the finalizing part in the 3ds.hacks.guide

Where did you buy the card? Could be a fake.

@kivat1, did you test the SD card with H2testw when it was empty?
now that I think about it no I had already passed the godmode9,luma etc files, will run H2testw again then empty this time.

UPDATE
Now i think it's my sd each time i run the H2test with it empty my pc freezes, i will buy a new sd tomorrow and see if it's fixed.

What happened to your replacement card? Did it fail on its second testing in H2testw? If that new card was bad, whatever files that was added there and copied back off is likely to be corrupted. You can't use whatever data that has been garbled or damaged.

***

00040000000afe00 is the title id of NARUTO-ナルト-SD パワフル疾風伝 (Naruto SD Powerful Shippūden).

This should be what you find for a typical title on your SD card. The individual file names can be named differently.
  • bold = folder | Courier New = file
sdmc:/Nintendo 3DS/<ID0>/<ID1>/title/00040000/000afe00/
content/
cmd/00000001.cmd ← content metadata (AES CMACs)
00000000.tmd ← title metadata
00000000.app ← game
00000001.app ← manual
data/
00000001.sav ← save
Missing files means that the copying & pasting has failed at some point like:
  1. moving files from old 8 GB card → new 16 GB card
  2. moving files from new 16 GB card → computer

I haven't tested the new card again after my pc froze last time, so I can't use those files then?, so it's safe to delete those titles in the 00040000 folder ?

Without completing a single clean scan run with H2testw on your new card, we can only speculate with high suspicion that the new card you bought was a fake one that unfortunately junked all of your files.

If you have any important saves + extdata or games you don't have backs up of, you can try to salvage whatever you can using the guide found in this thread.

just did the h2testw
Test finished without errors.
You can now delete the test files *.h2w or verify them again.
Writing speed: 12.6 MByte/s
Reading speed: 17.5 MByte/s
H2testw v1.4

Going back to your post #1, do the CIA files that fail to install on your new card also fail to install on the old one? Your roms could be bad dumps.

Maybe you have the write protection switch set to LOCK? See this.

If the new card was tested as fine, try fixing with the quadruple reformatting.
