is it really easy to mod the 3DS version? I have always wanted the 3ds version with the music from the original game before rebirth. do you have a guide on how to mod the 3DS version so I can attempt it myself?

It's basically the same as the steam version. Once you get inside the romfs - you'll see what I mean by that.

Also, I'm more a fan of the original music too. *hi-five*

awesome, I'll get right on experimenting on that! any push in the right direction on how to do that? This will be my first 3DS rom hacking experience ever. And yes, I love the original music!

You want a cryptofixed one. Cryptofixed = decrypted fully.

It's a console tool, not a graphical program. It's displaying the help info and closing.

You may want to use one of those romfs rebuilders instead, then. Just be aware that some of them use old tools and don't produce ideal output (but for private purposes, that probably doesn't much. )

is there a guide explaining how to use it? I also tried dragging the cia onto it and it flashes open again and vanishes (stays open a little longer) but no folder is produced. I'm used to using console tools but I can't seem to find info on how this one should work

It prints the file's info with no arguments to the console. Some vague commands that may help if you really want to use ctrtool directly:

ctrtool --contents=contents file.cia # Extracts the contents (cxi) from a cia file
ctrtool --romfs=romfs.bin contents.whatever # Extracts the romfs image from a cxi
ctrtool --romfsdir=romfs -t romfs romfs.bin # Extracts the romfs in folder from the romfs image

I used HackingToolkit3DS to extract the cia and got into the folders now! replaced all the music already with a mod to original-ify the music. I'm going to check out other mods before I attempt to wrap it all back up again.

I did the command for the .cia and all I got were two files "contents.0000" and "contents.0001" how do I get to the actual folder to edit files?

The second command says contents.whatever because the 'whatever' is a number - try running the second command with contents.0000.

I think you'd probably be better off using a GUI tool. Sorry for suggesting the hard way. D:

Hmmm...how about that one that makes tinted rocks shiny gold? Or the charge meter for brimstone. Or improved item descriptions. Or that one that makes unique items look more unique. Basement renovator? IDK. Check moddingofisaac. There's too many.

I think the update was primarily just bug fixes.
