Misc can't connect with animal crossin ww

i'm using a ds lite that's flashed with a supercard lite.i have a toshiba laptop with a bt 2091 wireless router.i have no problems connecting via wifi with such games as mario kart but when i try animal crossing i have no joy,the little signal bar always stays red and never goes up but with the exact same setting mario kart has no problems.can anyone shed some light.what is wifi+me and do i need it.thanks ........sudeki300

Your gates, do they open when you try to open them online? Because if you don't have anyone in the village, the bars will always be empty. And if you try to go outside without any friends online it won't find anywhere to go either. It's normal.
