Hacking Can't boot zelda...

Wow whats going on here??

Sounds like the IOS9 is corrupting during the update? And the Wii is not Recognizing it? I still believe the best method for fixin is what i posted on the first page at the bottom but requires a mod-chip, if you guys find any other way of fixin this please let me know.

But you know people have been Updating their Wii with CIOSCORP to 3.4 and down with no problem at all and i haven't heard anything about the Softmii mod

Okay... step-by-step. You can run any other game on original disc, right?

Maybe you're lucky and not all of cioscorps are overwritten... try to boot with an autoboot wad manager disc and SafeMiiFrii

where can i get a autoboot wad manager disc ? google was no help

WHATS GOING ON? I'm thinking it's one of two things.

1. A new 3.4 update. My friend who had 3.4 updated last week...to 3.4 NOt sure if it was a shop channel update, or if it just blocked zelda from running when hack tickets are found. Maybe formating will help this, but I reallly dont want to lose my rb2/ghwt saves.

2. IOS9 is corrupted and everyone is going to die.

Here's what I'm going to do about this:

1. See if cssm will run without HBC *doubt it*
2. Bootmii?
3. Drivekey modchip (when it comes out)
4. Wiikey

Well I actually have been up/down-grading several times now, but only one time formated my Wii, and first I was 3.2 to do that, I didn't wan't any surprise and checked that my zelda could run, but I bet this info is not useful to you at all, just for the message: USE COMMON SENSE we're playin' with fire here, things like this are always around the corner to anyone, that's why lately the wave of paranoia and bricks, cause paranoia come the brick, because of the brick come the paranoia...!!!

Well after you get a Mod-Chip download Zelda and run it through the program called IOS Patcher, and Patch the ISO to IOS30, burn it and see if it will run, It should work if the IOS9 is the problem Now if this Patching the ISO to a different IOS trucha signs it, This wont work, But if it doesn't Trucha Sign it, it should Work, if it does form their just run the TP hack re-install HBC and downgrade your Wii.

Just a random thought; try erasing the twilight hack before loading Zelda for the first time.
(also, ensure you have the 3.4 compatible version of the hack)

A mod chip will also allow you to run auto-booting discs...if they're not trucha signed (as you're on 3.4). I'm not sure which one could help, but someone will/might.

Would it not be easier to just sell your wii and buy another one and start from scratch on that ?
It does sound like something you did has corrupted somewhere - this is why i never installed softmii.
Ill host it, and i do agree its great , but until theres a stand alone cSM with its own updater i wont be installing for reasons like this.

Now for a little input :
Have you checked to see if you can install the save file for zelda on your wii or do you have it on there already ?
If it is installed , have you tried removing it again and putting on the latest 3.4 version of the zelda hack ?
Also try resetting the wireless settings on the console and see if it lets you update again - that prob wont help , but its worth a go.

Is there any other game that uses ios9 that has issues ?

I have a wii from launch, so what chip should I be looking at?

Also, somebody needs to be informed about this issue. Maybe it's just cioscorp's fault, but maybe it's a bigger issue. There really needs to be a metroid prime hack or somehting like that. I know zelda has epic fail issues with your horses name *thus the game crashes and the installer runs*, how bout a game like harvest moon, where you also have to enter your name and the characters will say it.

Highly doubt it... also doubt bootmii or cssm could help me without the HBC installed.

Hmm...Is there anyway to copy over the HBC without zelda? I know you need zelda blahblah....but I already have the tickets installed from the channel *didnt format*, unless 3.4 removed them. Possibly I could get it to run?

EDIT: The save copied over no problem. Game wouldn't boot with save, or without it. I'll try an update again, but if it didn't overwrite IOS9 the first time, second time shouldn't make a diff.

UPDATE: Confirmed wii sports does not work. Ios9 and possibly others are deff corrupt. Anyone want to make an announcement of this? SOFTMII OR CIOSCORP? DON'T UPGRADE!!!!!!

gotcha! NEVER EVER upgrade with cioscorps on my wii Check!! i would suggest just getting a new wii or formating it...

Since I still have the tickets taht get installed with the homebrew channel, would it be possible to copy over the homebrew channel from the sd card into channels, and then run it? Is it is technically possible, it's worth a shot.

i scanned through and see that there hasn't been any fix. have you used the wii format in the system menu to maybe get some original system files reinstalled?

There is also a tread that walk you thru how to make your Wii a virgin. This way has been tried and with good results.

DVD drive has nothing to do with ios9.
