Hacking Can't boot into Luma3ds 7.1 chainloader

I have been to update luma and boot9strap to the latest version but when I hold start on boot I can't seem to get the chainloader to pop up so I can get into godmode9 or the boot9strap updater. can someone please help.

Redownload Luma v7.1 and put the boot.firm from that on the root of your SD card then try accessing the chainloader again.

It should yes. The 3ds will attempt to read from SD card before it pulls info from CTRnand.
