2 days ago I upgraded from a 4GB card to a 32GB card using the copy/paste method I was told was safe to do (kept files of 4GB card in pc just in case something went wrong) and succesfuly upgraded to a bigger storage.

I dumped and stored my Pokemon games in my new SD card so I could randomize them and enjoy a new playthrough and everything went perfectly until this morning when I realized that CIA files cannot be installed, the same error keeps popping up:

    Failed to install cia
    Result Code: 0xD8E0806A
    Level: Permanent (27)
    Summary: Invalid Argument (7)
    Module: AM (32)
Desc: Cert signature or hash check failed (106)

This made no sense at all because everything was working perfectly the past few days and suddenly im unable to do what I've been doing with zero effort so I figured that I must have deleted an important file while transferring my save games from my 3ds to my PC so I decided to restore the PRE-upgade files so everything would go back to normal, to my surprise this didnt work and since then have been unable to install CIA files even though I'm using the same files my 3DS had before upgrading at all.

Have you tried to install with another title/CIA?
Why don't install FreeShop and download ALL the games you want?
If you want, i can help you using Freeshop, just send me pm and i'll catch you.
EDIT: Maybe is the CIA file, maybe is damaged.

Yes I have tried 3 different titles
I have installed freeshop but for this particular operation I need a cia file I can edit using my computer and install after it's been edited

Maybe you're doing something wrong, have you followed 3ds.guide?

nvm I ran the card through h2testw and I got this

The media is likely to be defective.
    7.4 GByte OK (15694735 sectors)
23.7 GByte DATA LOST (49806449 sectors)

Looks like I'll be getting a refund

How can reinstalling FBI repair a broken SD card?

If he still have fbi, just go to TitleTB, select FBI and that's all.
Anyway, the problem must be the sdcard.

If the card isn't defective, it probably can't be read. A lot of sd cards are formatted to xfat. Use a formatter to change the format. Windows formatter won't do the trick in this case. All sd cards have to be fat32.

Have people not read? He already said it is faulty, causing the issue.

Have you seen the number of posts where people whine that they're stuck on 2.1 because they refused to do backups as instructed by the guide?

    Yeah, people don't read.
