Is there a cable to write a .nds file from a computer onto a ds game cartridge, instead of taking it from the cartridge

Yeah erm I'm sure that once the data has been put onto a cart , then the cart itself is read only.

So no and also why bother? Please explain.

EDIT: Oh wait I see! You want to make pirate games and sell them? If so, curse on you!

Well, multi-ple reasons actually, main reason is for me to make a ds game and write it to a cart

AND if it does become read only then what if i used a Dummy Card from http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.1204

Why an empty cart with only contacts should do something to a Read-only game?

I KNOW WHAT READ ONLY IS...

but it says a dummy card has no data

A dummy card is not a real card. All it does is go in the slot. Its a dust cover. There is NO WAY to write to a commercial cart. Just get a really effin cheap Flash Cart and do it that way. What you are trying to do is not possible. It can't be done. There's no way for it to work. It can't happen.

Anyone else have any other ways of saying "It can't be done?"

The dummy cart has no data. Or medium to write it to. Its only purpose is to fix sleep mode for some slot-2 solutions.

Official carts have two parts: the save Flash/EEPROM (rewritable), and the main ROM part where the game is stored (which physically cannot be written to). Since the DS will only boot code off the main ROM part which cannot be written to, there is no way to write a dump to the cart.

Scratch that then.

Is there a way to buy a commercial ds cart that has not been used?

As others said, it's just a dust cover with contacts to make the DS Sleep function work in conjunction with Slot-2 solutions. DS's Sleep Function won't behave correctly if it doesn't find a DS card in Slot-1, that's what that dummy card's made for.

SERIOUSLY.

does anyone know where they sell empty ones
Nintendo's pretty strict on developers selling Development Equipment. Because of this, no one wants to lose their workplace just to sell them.

It's important for society to be healthy and educated. If those things can't happen because all of the institutions that prop up those industries make it unattainable for all but a small portion of society, then your society is largely going to be disease ridden, dying, and uneducated in very short order.

Issue is it's too rich of a coperation already with bad sugar diets causing diabetes and killing teeth a new set of teeth around 90k

I agree it's not easy for the average American, let alone the ones below that average. Free / cheaper healthcare is much more important I think than free university education.
Of course like @mthrnite said, why not both. But I doubt both will get solved at once, and surely healthcare is top priority.

Although diet is largely education, people don't need to go to university to learn what's healthy and what's not,
it's the whole country, big corporations and advertising that is to blame for leading most of the population to believe that poptarts and froot loops are healthy to feed a child

i would think the population knows better but with food deserts and abject poverty, sometimes a poptart gonna have to do.

As someone who went through the grade school system in the US some time within the past 30 or so years, not nearly enough is done to promote and educate on how to eat healthy in a way that is feasible to do on a regular basis and also affordable. Eating healthy is, comparatively, fucking expensive. So is eating unhealthy, but in many cases eating unhealthy is more affordable than eating healthy
