Can We Put Other Firmware on Flash Carts?

    Could we put like "R4" Firmware on a DSTT? (Example)

    If Not, How Come?

    The firmware are designed for xxx cart so no. Incompatable firmware = won't run. Unless you just mean putting the files on the card then yes. [​IMG]

    Some firmware can be made to work on other cards with a bit of fiddling. YSMenu for example - It's based on the DSTT firmware and can be made to work on DSTT, R4 and Acekard2.

    There was also a DLDI patch that patch the Sakura firmware to run on any flashcarts, but you couldn't use it to boot roms or homebrews, so it was pretty much just a media player. Now that Moonshell2 (aka Moonlight's middle finger to M3 Team) is out it's obsolete.
