Please don't use that term around here, it's like a curse and everytime someone says it bad things happen plus the people in possession of it postpone it's release a little more.

I'm no Wii U expert, but I don't think IOSU has any control over vWii. Also, the hacks on the old Wii work on vWii so in hacking the vWii, you can already do that.

**** access is not necessary to perform basic haxx on the vWii, however if we want a BootMii-style solution, we will need to perform that with Wii U NAND access (**** exploit).

To expand on this a little, an IOSU exploit would allow us to start doing stuff like replacing cafe2wii and installing a BootMii-type thing (maybe running in native Wii U mode, ooh). It'd remove the need for an exploit game, since we'd have direct NAND access. We could also mess around with disabling the restrictions on the vWii (clock speeds, hardware lockouts etc.) but once you have IOSU there's not much point (unless you really like libogc).

Trust me, it's not the term that's the issue.

Running IOSU-level puts you at a level above even the vwii's boot chain, you could think of it as a sort of bootmii-level hax for vwii in that way. Not only can you install hax from cafe-side, you can also run games under the eshop rerelease IOSes (we refer to these as 'eWii') and play wii-mode stuff with gamepad controls. Running at a higher clock is likely possible too, at the very least IOP-side (faster i/o, maybe less latency on inputs).
