Can SBN64 be used for PJ64 > Dolphin Wii VC?

Trying to use DarkMatterCore's sbn64 to convert a PJ64 save file for use in the Wii virtual console, but with dolphin emulator instead of a real wii. The saves should be identical right?

I've tried converting my save with the following command (I assumed it should be a .bin because that's what dolphin is looking for in the "Import save" window)
sbn64 -i "ZELDA MAJORA'S MASK.fla" -o "ZMJ.bin" -s pj64 -d wiivc

But when I attempt to import the resulting file into dolphin, I get an error message saying it's corrupt or invalid.
It's completely possible that I'm screwing this up somehow but if anyone else has tried this before I'd appreciate some help, thank you!
