Hacking Can my PS3 be hacked or downgraded?

I just fixed my old PS3 slim which I got in Fall 2011. The OFW is 4.81 since I had to format the hard drive I put in it. I know that 4.81 itself isn't hackable since the PS3 currently has to be 3.55 or lower to be hacked, but is there a way it can be downgraded? I don't really care about pirating PS3 games since a lot of the JRPGs are really cheap now, but if I can downgrade or hack I'd like to use it for emulation.

you have the check the right model of or slim to see it, if u search on google "ps3 downgrade" it will appear a list with the version that are or not posible to downgrade

The serial ends in 3001A so I'm assuming it's the 3000 series slim that can't be downgraded.

Well that sucks but it's not a complete loss. The PS3 has a ton of JRPGs that should be available for cheap now so it'll go well with my Vita for those games. I know some retro game ports are available as well so that's always fun (not as fun as free but I'll take what I can get).

'most' of the 120gb slim models are good to be flashed and downgraded so look out for those.

Just get a pc for emulation.Save the ps3 for the exclusives it has,so you don't need to waist money on psnow paywalling.

I do have a pretty decent PC for emulation. I just wanted the option to be able to use a PS3 for it as well since that would make multiplayer a bit easier.

well, you can use cobra ODE, but its expensive... and the ps3 games are very cheap these days
