Gaming Can .jar files have viruses/keyloggers/trojans/whatever in them?

Yes they can contain virusses.
Virusses are usually pieces of code wich attach themselves to other files.

I knew that, you can even hide rar files inside JPEG's.

Its just code and like all code it can be tampered with.

.jar stands for "java archive" if my memory serves me right
it's basically semi-compiled java code. The keyword here is "code".
So yeah, a .jar file is like a .Exe except it's coded in java. It could be dangerous depending on what the code is meant to do...
