Ok, guys, I got a PSP for Xmas. I checked it's firmware and it has 3.95. I also looked at the date code and it's 8B, which is CFW'able. Can I update to v5.00 and later use a Pandora without fear? Thanks.

Yes, the PSP can go to CFW on any firmware, or even no firmware(I accidentally put the wrong fimware name and it flashed my flash0, flash1, etc.), it's on the motherboard(i think)where the pandora loading is.
So it's safe!
