Yes, you can hack it. If you are good at soldering, you can hard mod and downgrade. If not, tough luck because you should have done your research and don't update. Since you have been living under rock, 10.3 and lower was the hackable firmware.

I have a question guys. I'm on 10.5 and have a sky card and can play out of region games via the HBL etc.

I know currently 10.5 cannot install cia files but I was wondering if on older firmware it's possible to access a different region eshop.

So for example a UK 3ds being able to access and buy from a US eshop.

Only reason I ask is my friend is dying to play fire emblem fates on the US release but as we are both UK based he will have to wait. He's not really into being a pirate so I wondered if with HBL he could access the US eshop and buy it legitimately?
