Hacking Can Gateway Team brick my 3DS?

Hi,

I will soon buy a Gateway Card but for now I want to play some games who requires an higher FW than 5.1 and I don't want to update my SysNAND with them (because I won't be able to downgrade then).

Could Gateway Team brick my 3DS because of using Classic EmuNAND (without Gateway) which is updated by RxTools?
I'm a little bit scared because of R4i 3DS bricks last year

Gateway itself will never brick your 3DS and you can downgrade your 3DS to 4.2 from using the downgrade pack from firmwares 4.2 - 9.2

Then don't buy a clone and get the real thing also a gateway card is not needed to downgrade your 3ds .

also you can clear the update from your 3ds if its downloaded and you have the update nag by holding L+R+UP+A when you press the power button then clicking cancel.

on 3.0 yes but not on 3.1.1 I have not read of anyone getting a brick and even then it was like 2-3 people on maxconsole

Technically there's always a tiny risk of bricking with whatever you do, but as far as anyone knows, you should be fine.

I have used their functions without having the card and nothing bad happened to my 3DS

I was just referring to the whole 2.0 (?) brickway debacle. I dunno about any recent bricks, I haven't seen anything about it at least.

They could brick your 3DS if they really wanted but it's not a smart move by them anyway because who knows if it also happens with an actual Gateway card.

That was a long time ago and I think Gateway learned their lesson. (Since their plan backfired) Stick to the most updated gateway software and you should have nothing to worry about

Yes, that's right. I did this myself before my Gateway card arrived.
