Gaming Can Diamond trade with Leaf Green?

I tried searching but i couldnt really think of anything to put into the search bar to find anything relevant to this lol

nope, the only thing you can do is pal park.
insert the leaf green or whichever GBA game on the GBA Slot in your NDS.
then load your Diamond game and you can transfer them over.

need to beat the game first though

Does it need to be an actual copy of the game? What about if I have a copy in the NorFlash of my 3-1 EZ V expansion (BTW I'm using an R4 ds)

the 3-1 should work since it is exactly the same as an original cart. You can even boot it from the ds menu.

Thats my reasoning; when do you get to start trading from GBA carts?

you need to open D/P and then trade pkmn via menu bar.
The 6 pkmn (max. a day) appear in Pal Park
you can't trade more pkmn at 1 day and also none if you didn't catch the other 6

pal park can only be accessed after the elite 4 (and u dont even have the game)
