Hacking Buying DLC for WUP installed titles

Hi, I've been reading several of your guides for a few days but couldn't find this information.

Suppose I installed a game on a USB drive with wup installer. Will I be able to purchase a DLC for it?
My understanding is that these games are seen exactly like regular disk games, so I guess it can be done.

This is to avoid installing a cfw and still be able to play DLCs
