Hacking Bump in the road using Plailect guide

Hello guys so I started the process on my O3DS using the guide I am at the section where using luma and going in rednand you update the emu firmware. When that was written it was 10.7 now its 11 or so.
So when I get to this step and update I get a error the system could not update.

Do I just skip this step all together?
And whats the benefit of luma over rxtools? I used rxtools on my n3ds that I got rid of a few months back.
Or the benefit of continuing with the guide, the arm9hax?

You don't have tubehax DNS or the update servers blocked in your router do you?

No I do not.
Do I need to update to proceed anyway? And continue on the guide to the 2.1.0 downgrade etc..

Emunand upgraded to 11 works the same for downgrading as 10.7 worked for me anyways on the 3DS that didn't brick

Weird I tried it twice on luma 3ds emunand/rednand and got the error about updating.

But I thought latest emunand it supports is 10.7 and not 11?

No I do not.

Just make sure you don't have any patched/downgraded TWL_FIRM, AGB_FIRM, DS cart whitelist, mset or other system titles and you should be good to go.

Actually just got the upgrade working, dug around and saw people saying it took multiple times so I tried it a third time.
I guess third time is a charm haha.
