Looking forward to your pictures. One thought I had would be to add a small LED in series with R1 in this image

It should light up everytime you press a "key" which helps with troubleshooting and looks cool

The model can prolly be scaled down to something more usable. But sir I must commend your understanding of the DS' way of working aswell as your expertise in electronics. Though probably not something more than 1 or 2 people would ever attempt this project is a testimony of wits, the kind worthy of a true GBAtemper and right now, the kind worthy of my respects to you. *takes hat off*

Well this is some sick skill....The guy did an excellent job!! Outstanding..And it's practical too..

And for you darkangel5000, nothing to say other than fuck yeah...We need more people like you on the scene....I believe quite few people will try to use your guide to do something similar...I know I would/will if I'll have more free time..

Holy sh-... I was going to do that aswell, but then I realized, that I couldn't see the screen of the DS in any position, so I made another Add-On. But... whoa, that looks epic, I think I'm trying it in a few weeks =D... but firstly I have to find a real redoctane guitar for under 30~40€ =="

Ok I'm happy that the schematic is correct, I'll try to build one using micro press buttons taken from an old VCR that would fit into the "fake" slot2 cartdrige provided with the NDS.
0 ohms resistors are often used as a simple "strap" when you want to avoid making a double sided PCB or as a provision for future use (when you plan to replace it later by another resistor) or even sometimes as a kind of cheap fuse to protect some other components. But from what I know in this case it is totally useless.
I'll post some photos as soon as I get mine done !

Hey thanks for this tutorial, I was also looking for something like that over the web since last week !

I've tried to "sum up" the 2 schemes you've made into one which I think makes things easier to understand :

But I'm not sure this is what you meant. Is that correct ?
Please note that I have voluntarily omitted the R3 resistor which is 0 ohms and therefore seems totally useless and that there are connections between wires only if there is a big dot at the intersection.

Sorry, but are the wires to the buttons and the wire that has the "R2 resistor" connected in any way? I can't really understand either schematic at that point.

No, if they would be connected, there would be a dot on the scheme from ramu.
