My switch has a pin missing on the FPC connector for the sd card reader. The missing pin is the DAT2 pin. I have tried taking it to a local repair shop who said it was unfixable (which isn't true, it is just a single pin missing). I don't have the tools to fix it and even if i did i would probably break more things than i fix.
I have looked through threads about this issue here and people have mentioned that there are people and shops around who can repair it. If anyone can give me a list of places to repair it or something then that would be appreciated.

If it is missing a pin, then you need to either replace the whole connector on the board, or solder a wire from the motherboard on to the SD card flex FPC connector.

You might need to search around your region/local area microsoldering tech, AKA who really works on board level repair like macbook or iphone motherboard.

I noticed the repair blurb in your signature... is that outside of your wheelhouse?

I am in Canada and have been having troubles finding someone in the country who can fix the same issue on mine (as this is known issue on first manufacturing wave Switches.) While super common on these early Switches is only noticeable as user on the CFW side of things.

I am West Coast but I have no issue mailing my Switch out to the East Coast if I can find someone who can do it and can quote a rate.

If its in your wheelhouse, is your signature up-to-date and still doing console repair, if not? Is there anyone who you have/would referred your clients to for this fix.

Yes, my signature is up to date and I've been working on console repair all time. DM or leave your contact in my form for details

Last edited by jkyoho,
I had this problem on a V1 Switch. Got it fixed at a local shop, it worked for like a week and then stopped working. Then shortly afterwards wi-fi stopped working on the same Switch, wasn't worth fixing after that point.
