Recently, my Wii has been acting up when trying to play Super Smash Bros Brawl (actual game, not backup). Its been working for years now, and it just suddenly crapped out on me.

Starting the game works fine, but after trying to play for about 1-2 minutes, the music suddenly stops, and after a while I'd receive an error. (An error has occurred. Please eject disc, etc.)

I'm aware of the dual-layered discs, dirty lens problem, but I had just cleaned my Wii's lens with rubbing alcohol, and I'm still receiving an error. The disc seems fine too.

Any other ideas? cIOS 38 rev15. 4.0U

Hm, have you tried other game discs? Maybe your laser is burned out. Can you take a backup of it and try to play it from a USB device?
