It's an auction though, so those prices could go anywhere

That should be a buy it now price. The prices are falling fast and some new ones are available for less.

The folks who cry about the apparent lack of 4.5 3DS in the wild are just using that as an excuse because they accidentally updated or bought a 2DS.....
