ROM Hack .BPS Patches

I've been having trouble getting .bps patches to work on my O3DS. I am using the latest version of Luma, but my 3ds crashes when I attempt to patch the game. It gives me an Arm11(core 1) undefined instruction error. The patch is the Restoration mod for MM3d. Can someone help me with this?

No, I was attempting to patch the file via putting the patch in the luma folder with the game's title ID.
