Hacking Bottom Screen, Replace? or remove scratches?

Hi All!

I am new here, and have a couple questions about the replacement or removal of scratches from the touch screen. I have attempted to use toothpaste but it did not remove them completely. I can get a bottom replacement from a local gaming center for $20 (installed) is this a good deal? or would it behoove me to relace it myself?

Secondly is there a guide somewhere on replacing the bottom screen?

$20 seems like a good deal for a screen replacement.

Next time, get a screen protector so if it gets scratched, you don't have to replace the actual screen.

Yeah I don't know how it got scratched since it was that way when I bought the unit for $10. So I guess I am ahead either way with the replacement. I'm just cheap though and would like to know if there is a way that works to remove the scratches in the future.
