When you make a NAND backup on your SD card, how much space is consumed? I want to get a new SD specifically for this purpose, but I'm guessing even 1GB would be overkill.

I am assuming it will take 512MB (te size of the NAND) I'm guessing that it backs up the entire NAND (free space and all)

QUOTE(EnigmaXtreme @ May 13 2009, 09:05 PM) Does BootMii format your sdcard if u wnat to backup the NAND?

If the SD card isnt Formatted "properly" whatever the hell that means.
I would backup the SD card to my PC to be safe

Since I can't install this now, it's an online only installer, right? I have to ask you guys this stuff assuming people figured it out already.

- Can the NAND from one Wii be used to restore another bricked Wii?
- Is there an offline uninstall yet? I already have HBC, not sure which version and all, can I do all this installation offline somehow?

I've never installed preloader and been waiting for this as a brick protection solution...

So if i have a banner brick and have bootmii installed, could i just boot HomebrewChannel through Bootmii, then WadManager and fix it???
No, Even Better.
You can go into the Settings in BootMii and select the Restoring Option.
By Restoring Option you mean previously backing up the NAND and then when something goes wrong, just rewrite it once again with the backup data??

Sure it would work, but i think it's a little bit overkill just for fixing a banner brick... also i don't think the NAND chip would like it very much considering it has a lifespan of X reads and writes.

NEW FONCTION IN HOMEBREW CHANNEL

it search your fat 32 partition on your hard drive to find apps

so no more need of the SD , it let you use it for Wiiware so more place on your Wii

have they got it owrking on a F01E boot1?

because the last time they said that it dont will work on a F01E was in february

anyone know if they got fixed it?

howd u get that "launch bootmii" in the Homebrew Channel?

I think the installer comes with Homebrew Channel 1.0.2

Can the installer install 1.0.2 without installing bootmii? I think that's what I want to do first.

Hmmm, so now with this option, the introduction of BootMii and BannerBomb, would updating to system menu 4.0 from 3.2 be something that would be more promising when it comes to saving space for my Wii? Or should I still "hold my horses" for whatever reason?

I just backed up my NAND, which had to reformat my card. I'd made a backup of it before, so can I copy all my stuff back onto my SD Card and use it like normal now?

How bout this with backingup the NAND, what if u copy the bootmii folder on the sdcard onto a new sdcard then use that new one to backup the nand

You can install the 1.0.2 HBC from the hackmii installer, it's just going to update.

Install BootMii as an IOS and the option for Launch BootMii should be there now.

I just Found out that HBC 1.0.2 Comes with this.
Can it be possible to install HBC on a virgin 4.0 wii now?

Yes, just boot the hackmii installer with bannerbomb and install HBC
I think it will work with LU64 Wiis also, but I'm not sure

oh wait lol this was an offline installer! XD

Anyway, if you're on 3.2 you can NOT use a SDHC card to boot bootmii! You have to use an SD Card.
I tried with both my 4GB SDHC card and my 512MB SD card, the SD Cards boots it up no problem, but with the SDHC card it boots to the Wii menu like normal.

I installed Bootmii as boot 2, all using my SDHC card, but the thing only launches from my SD card.

This is kind of annoying cause all my ROMs and everything is on the 4GB card but it's ok i guess, at least I'm almost 100% brick proof now

Just tested out the Nand Restore by deleting the system menu and its IOS, have to say it works great, Fully restored

I have a Nand Backup and Bootmii installed has boot2 just so i'm clear

You still cannot have the full BootMii deal with that kind of boot1, but you CAN install it as an IOS, which does not offer quite as many advantages.
