same here,

already saw few wii's where i could only install as IOS,
all of them the POWER/RESET/EJECT are not working for bootmii ...

so able to move around with a GC controller, but unable to start the nand dump because start=eject :-(

The face buttons don't work in the IOS version, but if you have a GC controller you should be able to do everything...did you not try pressing start on the gc controller? It should never REQUIRE you to press something on the wii.

Hmm... same problem here. :-(
IOS version installed, no WiiMote sync and no Power/Reset buttons working.
Since I don't have a GC controller, am I cursed ??? I mean, is the BootMii completelly useless for me?
Any help or extra explanation on this issue will be appreciated.
Thansk a lot.

sorry to bump though, but ive been going through the same problem. i have a 1gb sandisk non sdhc card and its been working for me before, until few days ago, it just automatically goes into preloader without booting into bootmii first. ive already have the newest hbc, btw. also, i have one of the older wiis which was able to install bootmii as both methods, as ios and as boot2

I'm confused...you say you have the same problem as the OP, but from what you write, it seems like your bootmii was already installed correctly and worked before now.

If so...is your bootmii folder still in the root of the SD card? And if so...how does your SD:\bootmii\bootmii.ini look like?

(it should look a bit like this:

# BootMii config file
# Created by bootmii config editor

# Video mode, possible settings:
# NTSC, PAL50, PAL60, PROGRESSIVE
VIDEO=NTSC

# Autoboot, possible settings:
# SYSMENU, HBC
#AUTOBOOT=OFF
BOOTDELAY=5
)

Oh, and just to be sure: you didn't recently updated your firmware or messed around with sneek, did you? (both can cause effects on bootmii's working)

yes, bootmii in root of sd with the following files: bootmii.ini, ppcboot.elf, armboot.bin.
my ini looks like this:
# BootMii config file

# Video mode, possible settings:
# NTSC, PAL50, PAL60, PROGRESSIVE
VIDEO=PROGRESSIVE

# Autoboot, possible settings:
# SYSMENU, HBC
#AUTOBOOT=SYSMENU

# Autoboot delay, in seconds:
# Default is 5
#BOOTDELAY=5

i updated my firmware a little while back, but still on 4.2U and no, i dont have SNEEK.

edit: actually, come to think of it, to make bootmii boot up first, should autoboot be turned off?

If you updated your firmware officially to 4.2, you lost bootmii and have to reinstall it again if you want it back. And that # sign before the autoboot line means its commented out and is ignored. So its not autobooting.

IIRC, if you remove the # in the "autoboot" line, it'll boot directly into the system menu. It's probably best to remove the "#" in the bootdelay line as well (the '5' is the amount of seconds it displays if you don't press a button). That way, you should at least be able to glance the bootmii GUI if it's still there.

    If your internet speeds are fast enough. Streaming 4k takes alot. I used to only have 20mb sec, and 4k struggled. Now I have 300mb sec and 4k plays fine.

    I think Game streaming should work like this.... Local Hardware able the run the game fine, game engine and common assets stored locally, all FMV and music and textures could be streaming

    Or free government supplied high speed internet be nice also. Like Obama care. Xdqwerty that's cool, its time consuming but rewarding once done or playable, to see what you've made from scratch. Animations take forever, but worth it.

    @BigOnYa,
    and the visual aspect of the game is quite crude (the sprite that looks best is that of the protagonist just because he is a stickman with sunglasses)

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
    There is a bullets behaviour you assign to your character, that makes the code easier, under "behaviours"
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
    i meant that when the character is pointing to the right, the bullets spawn where they should, but when he is on the right, they move to the right but the spawn point is incorrect
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
    Itch.io has lots of free assets also. Under the bullets behavior tab, there is a "rotate bullets" option, can try that. Or in the code can try
    - fire bullet Player.X(PlayerDirection)

    That's cool tho, I'm proud of you going back to it, not giving up. It is difficult at first to learn, but fun once you get the hang of it. I think I've watched every tutorial video there is, but I still struggle sometimes to get stuff to work right. But gotta keep trying dif things, and eventually you will get it right.
