If I try to rip & launch any newer game from the USB Loader (such as Skyward Sword or Sonic Colors) I get a blue screen and "Error #2" displayed. I'm assuming I need updates these games are dependent on but I don't know how to go about getting them or determining which ones I need; and obviously, I don't want to update through Nintendo.

Can anyone provide me with direction on this?

Hmm, I would just start the program and answer the questions as if you never hacked your wii before. Get all the .wad files it produces and install them via Multi-Mod Manager (or another wad installer). You should be fine after that. Post the results.

better to run the syscheck homebrew, and have modmii read the output file. it will then update whatever needs updating.

My guess is that "the" USB Loader is USB Loader GX, which means you need to enable the 002 fix manually as it's not enabled by default, which is completely stupid.
