Hacking Black screen on running Multiman

Hey guys. I'm having trouble with a jailbroken CECHK01 PS3 running 3.55 Rogero that I bought off eBay. Hoping someone here will be able to help!

When I first tried using it, the Blu-ray drive was clearly busted, couldn't accept discs at all. I tried doing a repair and got it to accept discs, so I was able to run Multiman. When I tried running a game, though, it would crash and boot back to the main PS3 screen.

I figured the Blu-ray drive was still broken because it couldn't read the disc, so I got a replacement drive. Now, the PS3 can read/recognize discs, but when I try to load the disc or Multiman, I get a black screen and it disconnects from the HDMI/TV. This is the same thing that happens when trying to run Multiman without a disc.

I'm not totally sure how to proceed from here. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!

You can only use multiMAN 4.20 if you are on 3.55, other versions are incompatible.

Thanks for the response. Maybe I wasn't clear in my OP - I'm running 3.55 and was able to run Multiman with my previous BD installed. Now my PS3 is disconnecting from the TV when I try to run a game from disc or run Multiman, same thing happened when I tried running Multiman with no disc in the drive.

Do you still have your other Blu-Ray drive? you need to get the logic board off that Blu-Ray drive and replace it on your new drive.

Well, now that I've replaced the logic board, it's back to not accepting or reading discs. Not sure what's wrong now.

Not sure if this will help, but if you are desperate enough...
See this thread for information on how to enter Factory Service Mode.
This will allow you to, among other things, do the following:

• Allows remarry-ing of the Blu-Ray drive
• Blu-Ray DRL CRL fixing

But before you try that, maybe try to do a Factory Reset and put OFW 4.82 on it, just to see if it works from OFW or not. And if you're currently on a CFW, I think you have to put the OFW twice.

Thanks for the advice! I may have to try that..

I got the drive to accept a disc with the old logic board, but it wouldn't read the disc. So I swapped back to the new board, and now I have the same problem as before. Frustrating.

I'll try that, though, and maybe reinstalling the CFW.
