Homebrew Black Screen Mystery

Hey I will describe my problem and give as much information as I can

I have to get this shipped in 1 day to my sister and I need a backup loader working on it

I bought it and it had 3.4U I tried to downgrade using OCT23 FIX but then when I went to go start IOS Downgrader in homebrew channel, I got black screen

I also get black screen with Wad manager but Wadmanager IOS16 works

I installed CIOS rev 7 and also Gamma wad channel but I got black screen again


Any help?

I basically either need to run backuploader on 3.4 which is giving me black screen or downgrade which is also giving me black screen

Read this guide before you try anything else. Make sure you read it carefully and do all the steps in the exact order. You might accidentally brick your Wii if you do anything else.

Lol thats for Bricking your Wii, which you haven't done. You'll need to downgrade, there's a few guides in the stickies on how to do it. I'd follow one of them. The Wii Hacking Section has good tutorials.

Uninstall the gamma channel and follow the guide I recommended a couple of posts up. It will fix all your problems.

I followed the guide but problem is
I KEEP GETTING BLACK SCREEN WITH WAD MANGER 1.3 OR IOS DOWNGRADER
so I cant go any further
Tried a reformat but still nothingg

In your first post you said that you were able to install IOS16 with wad manager. After that did you install cios_fix.wad with custom wad manager (different from wad manager 1.3)?

If so, maybe it's a problem with your TV. Or you can try downloading IOS downgrader again. And make sure you have an internet connection.

I'm getting the exact same issue, I followed the guide from EmperorOfCanada and I'm stuck at the same place.

Used WM 1.3 to install IOS16-64-v257-prod.wad OK
Used Custom WM to install cios_fix.wad OK
When is try to load IOS Downgrader in Homebrew Channel screen goes black and wiimote power's off

Reinstalled both and still get the black screen, internet connction is working.

Also tried to remove the IOS 249 but it freezing there also.

I think I'll backup the saves and Mii's and format it. Could this take care of the issue.

It could be your SD-card. Try formatting your SD-card and put the files on it again. Then try the stuff again in your Wii. You could also try another SD-card.

When did you buy the wii? You are aware that some of the newest ones block homebrew and Wads aren't you?

I'm in the same boat here... recently purchased Wii with 3.4U.

Can't get past the ISO Downgrader step in a_running_pir8's guide. All I get is a blank screen.

Any advice would be very appreciated.

Same Problem Here- Zelda to Homebrew- ran some wads I can't remember and now some random wads don't work- black screen. The problem is its on all the wads I need to downgrade or remove previous stupid mistakes I've probably made. Emulaters off sd card work fine - errors on dvdx, wad manager 1.3, tinydeleter, anyregionchanger deal and downgraders..... Please Help. ALSO notice that the load bars when loading from sd move really fast as if not loading any info on these wads n apps. Gator (backup player) black screen dvd, backup launched black screen too,....... so now I can install everything I want and its getting hung up somehow after. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE HELP! Formatting the wii is silly because you never really format the operating system only the data storage from what I can tell.

I'm having the same problem. I just bought this wii on last Sunday.

wii 3.4u, serial: LU6!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WadManager 1.3 won't load.
Custom WadManager loads.
Installed IOS16, and IOS249.
IOS Downgrader gives BLACK SCREEN OF DEATH

It was bought at Best Buy. I'm planning on returning it, then possibly picking one up from GameStop or Gamers. Anywhere that might have an older version. Anyone know if it's possible to tell which version you're getting from the BOX?

lu64xxx and higher are the unsoftmoddable ones. You can install cIOS, but every application that tries to use it crashes. For now there's no fix for that and not even known why it happens.
