Golden Sun DD currently doesn't work on my 2i and in an attempt to solve the problem, I'm buying a new microSD. I'm currently using a Kingston 4GB but I've been reading that Kingstons are extremely sketchy.

In total, I've received $90 in gift cards to Target for Christmas, so instead of getting the Transcend (http://www.amazon.com/Transcend-Class-microSDHC-Memory-TS4GUSDHC6/dp/B0013DXVYK/) that people have been recommending, I'm thinking of getting a Maxell from Target (links below). It says they're speed class 6, so I'm wondering if any of you guys have experience with Maxell and if it'll be as good as a Transcend or SanDisk. Thanks.

You should get a Patriot Micro SDHC 4GB Class 10 I have tested 3 of them and the results are identical it' the best you can get and they don’t cost very much, go here and have a look

I went with the Transcend 4GB Class 6 because it was the same total price as the A-DATAs but with free 2-day shipping.

Thanks for your help everyone!

I think he means random access or direct access (same thing)

yea i did i have seen it called RDA (random data access) by a few friends so i thought that was the term

QUOTE(trumpet-205 @ Dec 26 2010, 03:36 AM) RDA varies with each card and operating condition. Only way to find out is to test your own microSD.

have a link to something i can test it with i ordered one (i was getting a LE SCDS2 anyway so i figured a class 10 for alittle over $10 why not)

when i first got my microsd years back the main 'fast' one recommended was 1gb japanese kingston which had good random access.
the adata 4gb class 6 had about the same but the transcend 4gb class 6 was quite alot slower
used to be a thread on cyclo forums back when 4gb was big and 8gb was arriving.
got an adata myself and never had a problem with it (test sample = 1 = win)

as for question in op... in the uk ive never actually seen a maxell branded card and the products that are maxell are pretty poorly regarded.
if they are class 6 i wonder why the small (6) isn't etched on the card pictures?
