I will add u both to the credits on this thread tonight. I will also make sure to add your names to the credits in the actual program for the next update. If that doesn't satisfy u, I can put out a v4.1.2 update for the sole purpose of updating the credits (if this is the case, plz let me know and I will put out an update asap, but I warn u, the changelog is going to make us both look stupid).

Again, I apologize for my ignorance when I met each of you, I do not know every developer, and I wrongly assumed you guys weren't contributors when obviously you both are in fact devs. In my defense, you each were verbally attacking someone who I knew was active in the community, and I came to his "rescue" only to end up in the "battle" myself.

You both are assets to the wii community, and I am sorry we got off on the wrong foot. That being said, it still pisses me off to hear your comments about my friend DeadlyFoez. You may tell me to pick my friends better, but I think you've misjudged DeadlyFoez. In that regard, lets please just agree to disagree.

I will PM Omega the source, I'm sure u will be tempted to make fun of me for it, because it is not sophisticated (I don't consider myself a real developer, but just someone with enough skills to contribute to the community). I ask you to please only make constructive comments (if you want to make any at all).

The source has always be available upon request, and I have never once denied the source to anyone.

Nothing is stopping you from mass spreading my source over the internet against my wishes. But if you do this, I will not be held responsible for any noobs releasing mods that wind up bricking people (not that I am responsible even if you don't)... this isn't like your high level code, where a noob would be less likely to figure out how to install devkit, mod the source, and recompile the app. Any noob could mod the NUSAD source in a text editor REALLY quickly without knowing what they are doing... and then think they can release their own NUSAD mod... well, that's fine, as long they know what they're doing. I'm trying to make sure only those people who know what they're doing see the source to avoid noob mods (not that I am saying no to anyone). Obviously Omega is qualified and I will make sure he gets a copy as he has requested it.

I think I have been more than fair. I hope we can start over on the right foot this time.

edit: there has been another topic started that is discussing how to make NUSAD GPL compliant. I will be following that thread, and be making the necessary changes (if any) to make NUSAD compliant with the GPL. Please bear with me for a little while, I will try to get this situation sorted as fast as possible, but I have a massive exam this weekend, so please be patient.

Thing is, the program was working fine yesterday, I just wanted to see if it was a server problem or something... I have tried to re-download all the files multiple times, but i still get the same error

I just grabbed the exact same 8 files you reported as changed or missing and it worked perfectly.

I'm not sure what the problem was, but can you try to repeat the problem and report back if it works or not? If you can't repeat the problem, then I wouldn't be overly concerned.

fyi, since duplicate downloads are skipped, you would want to delete any files marked as "changed" (in your case cMIOS-MPv0.2-v4.wad) so that it will be re-created on your next try

is it messing up in the converting process? It downloads all the files right, but the only thing in the WAD folder afterwords are IOS70 and cMIOS wads

I just repeated exactly what you've done, and it worked fine (no files missing or changed)

because all the files (except 1) that are screwing up are cIOSs, it could be u accidentally moved or changed the Support Folder that comes with NUSAD (make sure there is a SUPPORT folder saved in the same place as NUS Auto Downloader.exe)

Can you try re-downloading/re-extracting the program one more time and test again? Just so I know for sure u have the right files/folders.

When u repeated the error, did u get the exact same files missing/changed as before?

When u say this app worked for u yesterday, were u using the same computer you're using now? Do you have .NET Framework 3.5 installed?

That's what it was, for some reason, the support folder was missing (truth be known, i probably deleted it on accident).

I Finally figured out what was going on. Well, sort of. I don't know why but, as soon as i removed my hard drive from the USB port at the back, it worked fine. No issues. Thank you so much for your help XFlak and DeadlyFoez.

Thank you again Xflak for making this great piece of software. I will use it again on my other wiis (yes i know, i have 3. It is a long story) The software made it simple and easy and now that i am able to fiddle around with a softmodded wii, i am discovering how things work and more technical terms. Because of this software i am learning more and more. Thanks again for all your help,

You need to credit all the other Wii.py devs: Xuzz, SquidMan, Matt_P and The Lemon Man, also credits to Daeken for writing Struct.py and marcan for his LZ77 code are due. And just to make this clear, me nor megazig had said anything mean, well that is until DeadlyFoez started ridiculing us. And started harassing me in PM. I asked very nicely.

What exactly is the problem here? None of the GPL apps have been changed and there's no GPL code used in the apps written for it.

issue is 2 fold.

1) he says that one of tha applications used has source changed.

2) just because source doesn't change, if you distribute binary you must still distribute a way for anyone to get the source.

seems like he is trying to do that now, so we'll see what solution he chooses to satisfy the conditions.

I did a re-write of an app used for him. It's new, but was written as a drop in replacement. TBH in a couple of versions time it will probably replace most of the apps used. And it will be GPL'd then but right now I don't want to release the source so it's supplied as-is.

And the other apps, seeing as most readmes tell you where to get the source wouldn't including them be enough? I know they should have probably been included before but it can be easy to overlook some things with no bad intent.

your WadMii mod is supposed to be GPL. it needs source. as long as you use libwiisharp there's no way around that.

edit: first page shows 2 source links for the changed apps/lib. not sure if that's the updated source or not as those are needed, but it looks like he's trying to provide source.

If you know of anyone who has not been given credit for the work that they have done then post it HERE and those names will be added I'm sure. Xflak's thread is for support and information on updates and not a playground for complaining and off topic discussion. If you dont want to post it in THIS thread then you can always PM XFlak directly with any issues or suggestions that you have. Thank you.

I can assure u, I want this application to be GPL compliant more than anyone, and I will be doing everything in my power to make sure it complies as soon as possible. That means I will be following the GPL thread closely, as well as responding to any and all related PMs. But if I don't respond quickly, it does not mean I am ignoring you (I often leave my pc running while I am out, so if it says I am online, it doesn't necessarily mean I am in front of the computer)

edit: fyi, the sources for libwiisharp and wadmii are not the source for the exact binaries used in NUSAD. They are just placeholders until I get the source from Leathl and cwstjdenobs (I figured they are better than nothing for the time being).

I'm closing down the project primarily because of Omega threatening to have my app taken down even though I am doing EVERYTHING I can to comply with GPL and his wishes. I never once said that I would not comply, but I'm just going to do away with NUSAD because I don't have the time for this bullshit (I have exams and major life changes going on right now).

All I wanted to do is help people do things easier and spend some free time doing it. But no longer. Goodbye NUSAD. It's been fun.

I realize its a little immature to publicly post PMs, but this is just a small taste of what I have had to deal with in the past 24 hours.

What's it gonna be? I wouldn't have even brought the take down up, but your friend DeadlyFailz provoked me. So, it's either credit and source, or it get's taken down, and I don't have all day, I can request a take down right now, because you aren't complying and I gave you a chance to (which I chose to). I'm normally not like this, but maybe this'll teach you to pick your friends better, or at least to not stick your nose in issues that do not concern you.

I can see you're online, and ignoring me isn't going to help.

If I find the time and energy, maybe I'll revive NUSAD one day... but don't count on it.
