Best way to extract games on MacOS?

I’m new to this OS and am trying to extract (and hopefully rebuild) my copy of windwaker HD so I can play with their mods

I don't think you need to even extract your game to add mods! Also is this on Cemu or Cfw WiiU?

That’s fair I should have specified aha I’d like to do it on a CFW Wii U. From my understanding that doesn’t have anything like layedFS and is why I was thinking I would have to extract and rebuild the game(unless I wanted to use another loader) but I enjoy my home menu shortcuts ha
