Hacking Best software to update

Hi i have found my old 3dsxl on firmware 7.2.0 all the hack for home bru are for 9 or 10 whats the best way to update to these firmwares done want to update to 11 to lose access to homebrew

I would follow Plailects guide.

It is a very well written guide that will tell you EVERYTHING you will need to know about hacking, Downgrading, Upgrading, Software installation, ect.
At the end of the guide, you will have a fully hacked 3ds with the current firmware version as well as have the ability to download games, install homebrew, and add custom themes.

Edit: Concerning the firmware you need to be on, you need to be on 9.2. Here is a link to the guide concerning updating. (I'm assuming you have a European 3DSXL.
