Pokemon Crystal and Pokemon Yellow are the best. In Crystal you could go back to kanto, it has the day and night feature and some other stuffs. Yellow cause you got your pikachu walking behind you

G/S/C>R/B/Y>R/S/E>D/P/Pl

Didn't include FR/LG because I never got around to playing them.
I put D/P/Pl in last place because despite the updated graphics, the game just isn't as fun as the previous games have been. I played though both Diamond and Platinum, and both times I had to force myself to finish it. The game just isn't enjoyable anymore, and the Pokemon are all forgettable. The only fun feature about the game is the ability to battle and trade with people online/without a link cable.
I agree. Even though I have played FR/LG, I don't consider them better then the original ones, R/B/Y.
And G/S/C are all brilliant, whit both Kanto and Jhoto....One of the best games ever.

My favourite is definetly Pokemon Snap. It was so fun taking pictures of pokemon just walking around in the natural habitat. They should make a new one with ALL of the pokemon in it this time.

HeartGold/SoulSilver
Duh, newer games have newer and more content.
But the Pokemon game with the most gameplay hours from me is FireRed with 180 hours. My HeartGold is catching up though, 153 hours. >_

Best game to me would be Emerald, and based on my experiences, the best games I play are the ones that I'll never finish due to random circumstances. Emerald was just too awesome that I don't know what to do in it anymore. I'll play it again once I get 5 stars on Heart Gold.

My favorite is the second generation of course.

Red was my first so I'm attached to that game...glitched the hell out of that game using the Missing No. glitch hahha. I used to battle with 5 level 255 Snorlax's with all the strongest techniques (Hyper Beam, Blizzer, Fire Blast, Thunder) and fed them maximum vitamins, HP UPs and PP UPs. Man, I was unstoppable haha.

Overall though, gold was my favourite. It had a good amount of pokemon to catch, not like today's pokemon games where it takes an eternity to catch em all and basically requires cheats/trainers.

HeartGold/SoulSilver ftw. All the pokemon in one place

I've played all of them. But the longest i've played is Pokemon Ruby

First I will give my choice: Silver

I've owned a pokemon game from every generation and I enjoyed the 2nd the best.
Having 2 regions made it one of the greatest and longest handheld games of all time.

My 2nd is tied between red/ruby, I liked them both, maybe if I replayed my red I might like it better.

I remember how much of a step up the GS generation was compared to the first.

New Pokemon were a surprise, not a given. Many new elements like held items and new types expanded upon the already-deep gameplay. The Day/Night system was shrouded in mystery because no one knew what it was for at the time. And when you beat the Elite Four... Surprise! Kanto! Awesome game, full of surprises and firsts for the series.

So I voted for all three of those.

HG/SS.
Will be black/white when it's out.

This has always been a stupid question to ask, because pokemon is the exact same thing over and over, with small improvements from game to game. So the latest is always the best, and that's how it's always going to work until they majorly change the gameplay for one, which would then make peoples differing opinions more valid.

The original Gold and Silver take the cake. Just the sheer amount of content it had at the time made it THE handheld game. I mean, compared to its predecessor, it's a superior game. Colorful graphics, more Pokemon, twice as many badges, and just overall a lot more features and fun. It's the best.
