Hey. This is something I've been wondering. Am I missing anything much by not looking into the non-US games?? I always assumed anything really good would always be translated and released in US.. eventually. Recently though I've been looking back at all the games I never tried and wondering what else I might have missed. I'm not interested in slightly different versions released in other countries or versions with extras... just titles that never were released in US, but would be top rated games if they had been (any?).

TIA,
D.

Here's all I can think of, presently:

Daigasso! Band Brothers
Jump Super Stars
Jump Ultimate Stars
Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan
Moero Nekketsu Rhythm Damashii Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan 2
Taiko no Tatsujin DS Touch de Dokodon
Meccha Taiko no Tatsujin DS: 7-tsu no Shima no Daibouken
Slide Adventure Mag Kid
Soma Bringer (Requires a translation patch to be understood storywise)
Tales of Hearts (Requires a translation patch to be understood storywise)
Tales of Innocence (Requires a translation patch to be understood storywise)

-Although one of the Osu! games did get a release in the states, the US release was so drastically different in everything except gameplay mechanics that the Osu! games are usually considered a Japan only release with a US spinoff.
-Also, if you want to play Mag Kid you need to actually import the game, as it requires an extra thing be plugged into the slot 2 of your DS or DS Lite.

EDIT: I forgot that 4 Warriors of Light had the chance to have a US release.
Also, there's a game I'd like to add but there's no knowing if it'll get a US release and there's no translation patches or anything for it... It is also a Chibi Robo game. XD

For people who like that kind of game, Culdcept DS is great. Of course, we have a translation patch, but those without flashcards can't play it...

Also, the sequel to Retro Game Challenge. Such a pity that it's not going to be released outside Japan...

Jump Ultimate Stars

Daigasso Band Brothers (japanese version > English crap)

and for other purposes ill also recommend Doki Doki Majo Shinpan >.>

...There's no English Daigasso game. You're probably thinking of Osu! vs EBA.

But Osu is pretty much identical to EBA except with a different soundtrack. If you liked EBA and don't mind the J-Pop/J-Rock crap, you'll get a kick out of it.

Anyway...

Jump! Ultimate Stars, which was fun even for someone who isn't completely into anime.

A lot of people liked Soma Bringer. I didn't think it was OMFG excellent, but it was a fun romp.

Probably a lot of JRPG games that aren't too shabby.

SaGa 2: Hihou Densetsu - Goddess of Destiny. I honestly don't see that being released outside of Japan. At least there is a high chance there will be no banana smuggling in this game XD!

Yep. It has games based on the SNES, gameboy, and so forth too.

But like the link says, we're unlikely to get it, because Retro Game Challenge 1 didn't sell too well in the US (damn those pirates! If only I knew a website where they all hang out so I could yell at them! *shakes fist*)
