I've got an old HP v165w 32GB Flash Drive here that I've been using with my vWii perfectly, recently bought a Sandisk Ultra Fit 128GB and thought I'd give that a try and it just black screened when trying to load most ISOs via various loaders (but they all recognized it and displayed the games with no issues).

Could it be because the newer stick is USB 3.0 and the old one isn't or is that just the way the vWii is when it comes to memory sticks?

What are you lot using? 64GB would be perfect really as I don't need a drive full of ISOs but could go for a 128GB if it works smoothly each time.

Thanks

USB 3.0 tends to be problematic with USB loaders, there is a compatibility list here but it's far from complete and your flash drive doesn't seem to be on it: http://wiki.gbatemp.net/wiki/USB_Devices_Compatibility_List
I use an 2.5" hdd in a USB 2.0 enclosure, works just fine.
Also, can you just run everything from a sufficiently large SD XC card with no issues at all, thus not having to be concerned about USB compatibility?
Sure. Older Wii games (like Brawl) are not be able to read SDHC/SDXC but all homebrew should be able to.

I had a feeling it was due to the 3.0 structure, thanks.

So just buying a larger SDXC would be the simplest and best way forward then. When you say there are some issues with Brawl, what do you mean?

Brawl has SD card support for saving replays and stages, which only works with SD cards <= 2 GB, but of course you can still save them to the internal memory. I don't know what other games use the SD card but I don't think there are many.

You mean can you store your Wii ISO's on it? No. You can't. You can boot GameCube games from it. But I don't believe most loaders can boot Wii games from SD. Everything besides Wii ISO's should be fine though.

CFG Loader can. It'd be great if USB Loader GX could do it as well. A Wii U would be very portable then by only inserting a SD card for Loadiine and ULGX.

It just does the same formula south park can press buttons without going overboard

And bc most of the family guy budget is spent on the voice actors rather than on the animation
