Homebrew Begginer's guide to retroarch/emulators

I have a N3DS XL with a9lh and Luma3DS. I wanna install a bunch of emulators, and I read retroarch is the best. I wanna run SNES, NES, Genesis, CPS 1+2, Neo Geo, Gameboy/GBC, and GBA.

How do I set up Retroarch? How can I install each emu so it shows up on the Home menu screen?

Also on a side note, if I wanna update to a larger microSD card, do I just copy everything from the old card to a larger one?
