Looks like some people are pulling that metaphorical gun's trigger for you. I frankly couldn't care less about if they're right or wrong. Goodness knows you're allowed to rant sometimes, just let loose, as you're doing. Of course it's gonna be interpreted as an open house by some of the more critical people, but what can you do?
Me, I just hope you get all this shit off your back.
I don't see any point in further antagonizing an individual who's already suffering. Heck, you try that on a dog and watch your ass fly straight to jail [do not pass GO. sorry, couldn't resist...].
Further negativity in face of current negativity ends up in a big clusterfuck, as can be illustrated by this thread going off-course.
You can quote me on that.
Anyway, best of luck.
we weren't "antagonising" him, simply offering advice. There's no point in ranting about someone if you don't want people to agree/disagree/help you.
And is Nanaki a dog / cat ? This is going to sound really mean and harsh but, if he is, do you know how much those pets cost to 'keep'?
Take a look here. I'm not saying get rid of him, no way, just that maybe you should have considered that when you got him. (OK it might have been a 'different situation then' or 'a gift', but still).
Nanaki's a siberian husky. And aside from his food every month, he costs me basically nothing. All his injections are done already, he has no health issues, although he is insured in case anything happens (my bank account actually provides insurance as part of a package, insures Nanaki, my phone, and me if I go abroad, costs about £10 a month extra but it's cheaper than buying just the pet insurance alone), he's been microchipped and has everything he needs. Toys, bed, name tag, collar, lead. His dry food costs between £15 and £40 a month, depending on what I get him (normally based on what I can afford), I supplement it with all sorts of things, quite often with chicken and the like when we have a curry, we give him some chicken (with or without curry sauce, depends on the sauce, he can't handle the really hot ones), and if he needs a new toy, the local pound shop actually has some decent ones. He enjoyed that cuddly sandwich I got him last month, loved it quite literally to bits. Lasted him suprisingly long for a £1 toy, he got a good three weeks of fun out of that.
He doesn't need a fortune spent on him. All he ever seems to want out of life is a walk around the local park whenever I'm available, a hug before I go to work, a treat when he does 'paw', a cute girl to make a fuss out of him (Hitomi takes care of that for me) and a place to crash. I could spend thousands on him and I doubt he'd be any happier or healthier. His coat is gorgeous, he's always happy, and that's on my budget.
I thought everything through before I got him. I knew that even on the absolute bare minimum I earn a month, I can still afford to feed him and pay my rent. If things dip that low my phone and other bills might suffer, but no matter what the circumstances, Nanaki is well looked after. I'd rather have my phone cut off entirely than see him go hungry. He is my top priority for all payments. No matter how bad my wages are, he always has what he needs to survive, even if it means he has to be on the cheaper food for a few weeks. If he does have to eat the cheap stuff I normally rummage up a few extra pounds from somewhere to get him some treats to make up for it.
