10 years being the maximum sentence, which is hardly ever enforced. If they have even a halfwit lawyer, they should get off with maybe 1, 2 years max in prison.

actually, we are not hacker here, we are modder, saying you hack a console is false, only programmer who find exploit and write code so people play for free are hacker. we, normal people who use those code, are not hacker, we are modder. only hacker can get in jail (yesm smea can get in jail at any time), we modder, are in some juridic void, its not legal, but not illegal either in most country, thats why modchip and flashcart are not intercepted at country frontier

i dont know for you in usa, but here in canada, federal crimes are all above 2years

If you injected FBI into H&S, that is hacking. Same if you've ever injected virtual consoles. Just because you used a tool doesn't make it not hacking, all hackers use the right tool for the job.
