Battery Charge Limit

I have enabled deep sleep by default to save battery. But if I understand this homebrew correct it would still charge to 80%

Right, but if your switch is plugged in and charging you're not trying to save battery so there is little concern about not going into deep sleep. Additionally it doesn't prevent deep sleep all together but rather wakes up periodically to see where the charge state is.
